ABOUT
THE ARTIST
While it's important to have a role in a particular market as an avatar of what is "the best" in available works, no gallery will last for long without a revenue stream. As a former gallery owner and gallery employee, I realize how important sales are to a gallery's overall economic health.
While it may be debatable as to whether my work can rank at the top of a given market, it has always been popular with the general public and it almost always sells. At nearly 100 percent of my exhibits, I have sold at least two works. This has happened either on the night of the opening or in the days following. In some cases, nearly all works in a specific style have sold. While I have never had a "sold out" show, I've come fairly close. For any artist in the Indiana market, this is a impressive accomplishment, especially in today's economy. (For more on my past exhibits, go here.)
From 2002 to 2009, my work has been presented in 7 solo shows in galleries, all but one resulting in multiple sales. One show in particular, "In the Shade" was a near sellout, with only 3 works left unsold. Another solo show,"Creeks & Waterways," has only 2 pieces out of 12 left. Other non-gallery showings have resulted in many sales as well, profiting the owners of the retail establishments where they have sold.
Part of my popularity is due to my eclectic approach to my work and this is what seems to keep art buyers coming back. Because I have a variety of styles, you are afforded the ability to pick which style either fits with your current cache of works or decide it may fill a niche which is currently vacant. Either way, you can be sure you are adding an artist who's work is high-quality and saleable.
My history of sales through brokers and galleries is solid and my relationship with current galleries who carry my work is amiable and equitable.
I have works in several private and corporate collections, most notably Eli Lilly (2 pieces) and Community Hospitals of Indianapolis (3 pieces). As well, my long-standing partnering with Closson's of Cinncinnati speaks to my ability to forge lasting relationships with reputable galleries.
I encourage any gallery who is interested in carrying my work to contact me. There are new works being created each month which I can bring to show you at your convenience, or feel free to look through this site.
Note: New works are usually linked in my blog.
